Akita Working Extra Large The Akita is a large, powerful dog with hooded ears and small eyes, standing relatively high on his legs with a tail that is carried over his back in a tight curl.
Alaskan Malamute Working Extra Large Powerful, big dog. Since he is lower on his legs than the Akita, he looks smaller. Hooded ears, normal eyes. Tail is carried in a loose curl.
Anatolian Shepherd Working Giant Big mountain dog, not as molossian as others. Looks rather high on his legs.
Bernese Mountain Dog Working Extra Large Large mountain dog, not as molossian as others, but relatively heavier and lower on the legs.
Black Russian Terrier Working Extra Large Looks like a heavily built Giant Schnauzer with more coat.
Boxer Working Large Elegantly built dog with a Brachycephalic skull, very athletic.
Bullmastiff Working Extra Large Heavily built dog, not as heavy as a Mastiff nor as light as a Boxer. Has a Brachycephalic skull, but not as outspoken as the Boxer.
Doberman Pinscher Working Large Almost a short haired version of the Giant Schnauzer, elegant and relatively high on his legs.
German Pinscher Working Medium Looks like a medium sized Doberman Pinscher, especially when it has the black and tan coat.
Giant Schnauzer Working Large Dog built like a Doberman Pinscher but with a tight wire coat. Very characteristic furnishings on the head.
Great Dane Working Giant Elegant big dog, very agile. The whole dog gives an impression of a great athlete. Looks high on his legs.
Great Pyrenees Working Giant Big mountain type dog, more molossian than a Kuvasz and a rougher coat than a Kuvasz. Looks rather high on his legs. Can have markings on the head which also sets him apart from the Kuvasz.
Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Working Giant Big mountain type dog which is rather molossian. Higher on the legs than the Bernese Mountain dog and much bigger.
Komondor Working Extra Large Corded coat. Rather normally built, nothing extreme except for his coat.
Kuvasz Working Extra Large Great Pyrenees look-alike, only smaller. Slightly lower on the legs, not as much coat, especially around the neck area, and with a more elegant head than the Great Pyrenees.
Mastiff Working Giant Big dog of a molossian type, looks rather low on his legs, has more (loose) skin than a mountain type dog on his head.
Neapolitan Mastiff Working Giant Looks like a Mastiff but with a shorter head and twice as much skin, especially around and on the head.
Newfoundland Working Giant Heavy, yet elegantly built big dog. Looks like a mountain type dog, but slightly lower on his legs.
Portuguese Water Dog Working Large Rather elegantly built dog with a normal skull; this dog looks more like a hunting dog.

Rottweiler Working Extra Large Heavily built dog that is relatively low on his legs. Despite the heavy build, he is very agile. Not as molossian as a Bull Mastiff.
Saint Bernard Working Giant Heavy, big mountain type dog. Two conformation types. One is a bit higher on his legs and not so angulated (mountain type), the other is lower on his legs and more angulated (molossian type). Extremely heavy head.
Samoyed Working Large Spitz type dog, always white. They look almost square. Due to the dark pigmentation on the lips, it looks like the dog is smiling when he's panting.
Siberian Husky Working Large Elegant version of the Malamute. More built for speed, therefore higher on his legs.
Standard Schnauzer Working Medium Large Medium sized version of the Giant Schnauzer.
Tibetan Mastiff (DO-KHYI) Working Giant This is a large, noble, impressive-looking dog, with a molossian head, used for herding and guarding purposes. Its coat is double, with a long, thick topcoat and, in winter, a heavy, soft undercoat. This is an intelligent independent, reserved dog, very protective of its family, but aloof toward strangers.
