Beagle
A "merry little hound," the Beagle is still used for its original purpose, hunting, primarily rabbit. It is a very attractive breed, and two varieties in size are recognized by the AKC, a maximum 13" variety and a maximum 15" variety. The AKC also includes in its breed standards for the Beagle a scale for judging a pack of Beagles. The KC and the FCI both have a minimum size standard of 13" and a maximum size standard of 16".
